Getting started
What is mycareerwall, in one sentence?
A career platform built on a single source of truth: you fill one structured knowledge base, and mycareerwall generates your CVs, cover letters, portfolio site, public profile and job-search tooling from it — so nothing is ever out of date in one place and current in another.
Can I import my existing CV or LinkedIn?
Yes. Start from an existing résumé, a PDF or your LinkedIn profile and mycareerwall structures it into your knowledge base, so you are not typing everything from scratch. The free plan includes one import; Plus and Pro include 30 and 75 a month.
How long does it take to set up?
With an import, most people have a working knowledge base in under ten minutes and a first CV a few minutes after that. Completion guidance shows you what is still missing and what it would unlock.
Do I need to know how to design?
No. Every one of the 152 templates is designed and typeset already; your content flows into it from the knowledge base. If you want to go further, the builder lets you restyle any element, and the AI builder can make the changes for you from a plain-English request.
Knowledge base & privacy
Is my data private?
Completely. Per-source coverage controls let you decide exactly what your public profile and the Ask widget can use. Anything you keep private is never shown and never answered.
What goes in the knowledge base?
Twenty-five structured sections: profile, experience, education, skills and tools, portfolio, achievements, certificates, testimonials, publications, speaking, languages, work preferences and more. Each is a real data structure, not a text blob — which is what lets a document bind to a single field.
If I edit the knowledge base, what changes?
Everything bound to that field: every CV, cover letter and portfolio that uses it, your public profile, and what Ask can say about you. Edit a role once and it is current everywhere. Nothing you have deliberately tailored per document is overwritten.
Can I tailor one CV without changing my knowledge base?
Yes. In the builder, switch edits to "This document" and your changes are stored as overrides on that document alone — the knowledge base, and every other document, stays untouched. You can promote a tailored value back to the knowledge base later if you decide it belongs there.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes, from your account settings. Deleting your account removes your knowledge base, documents and published pages.
Documents & templates
How do my documents stay up to date?
Every document is bound to your knowledge base. Edit a role once and every CV, portfolio and cover letter that uses it updates automatically — no copy-paste.
Can I export a real PDF?
Yes. We wrote our own typesetting engine rather than printing a web page, so the preview you look at is byte-for-byte the same file you download, and it sits within a pixel of the canvas you edited.
How many templates are there?
152 across CVs, résumés and cover letters — 50 of them cover-letter designs — plus portfolio-site sections. All of them are available on every plan, including Free.
Can I save my own template?
Yes. Any document you have styled can be saved as a reusable template and used for the next one. Your own templates are unlimited on every plan.
Does the PDF carry mycareerwall branding?
On Free and Plus, a small "Made with mycareerwall" line appears on exported PDFs. Pro removes it.
What does the AI builder do?
You describe the change — "make the header two columns", "tighten this summary", "put my contact details on one line" — and it proposes concrete edits you accept or dismiss one by one. It reads your real knowledge base, so it never invents facts about you. Free includes 5 AI edits a month; Plus 230; Pro 360.
Public profile & Ask
Do recruiters need an account to chat with my profile?
No. Your public link works for anyone — they just open it and ask. No login, no app, no friction. It answers any recruiter, any timezone, 24/7.
What is my public address?
Your own subdomain: yourname.mycareerwall.com. Your profile lives there, and every document you publish gets a clean URL under it.
How does Ask know what to say?
It answers only from your knowledge base and cites the section each answer came from. It cannot see anything you have marked private, and if the answer is not in your data it says so rather than guessing.
How many conversations can Ask handle?
Free includes 30 recruiter conversations; Plus includes 1,000 a month and Pro 2,000.
Can I see who has been looking?
Yes. Publishing includes analytics for your profile and shared documents — views, downloads and the conversations recruiters have had with Ask — so you know when something is landing.
Job search tools
What does the job-fit analysis do?
Paste a job description or a link and you get two reads on your CV: a deterministic ATS scan of what an applicant-tracking system will and will not pick up, and an AI deep review that reads it the way a senior recruiter would. Each gap comes with a specific suggested rewrite you can apply to that CV or to your knowledge base.
How does interview prep work?
Spoken mock interviews, scored on six dimensions, with a model answer written from your own experience so you can hear what a strong version of your answer sounds like. Question banks are keyed to the skills in your knowledge base.
What is the job tracker?
A pipeline for your search: every role you are chasing, stage by stage, with the exact CV you applied with attached — live, so it keeps updating, or frozen at the moment you sent it.
Where do the jobs on the board come from?
Roles posted directly by employers on mycareerwall first, backfilled with public listings. Each shows a fit score against your knowledge base and a breakdown of the skills you have and the ones worth adding.
Plans & billing
What do I get on the free plan?
Your full knowledge base, a public profile page, a recruiter chat with 30 conversations and 3 documents built from any of our 152 templates — free forever, no card. Paid plans lift the limits: unlimited documents and tracking, far more AI, and the Pro extras.
What do Plus and Pro cost, and what is the difference?
Plus is $14.99 a month and Pro $24.99. Both give you unlimited documents; Pro raises every AI allowance (360 builder edits and 2,000 recruiter conversations a month against Plus's 230 and 1,000), removes mycareerwall branding from PDFs, and includes the Pro-only extras.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from your account and you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for; after that you drop to Free, and nothing you built is deleted.
Is there a plan for employers?
It is coming. Employers will be able to post roles to the jobs board and search the talent directory. Until it launches, the employer pages on this site are previews.
